What Is Therapy Like With Me?

This is something I wish I had shared earlier in my practice, but it’s never too late to let you know what it’s like to work with me. Starting therapy is a brave and meaningful step toward healing and self-discovery. Finding the right therapist—someone who truly understands, supports, and connects with you—is just as important as taking that first step. So, what can you expect when we work together?

A Warm, Non-Judgmental Space

From our very first conversation my goal is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and valued. Sharing your thoughts and emotions can feel vulnerable, but you don’t have to do it alone. I strive to provide a compassionate and welcoming environment where you can show up as your true self—free from fear or judgment.

Whether you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or simply unsure of where to start, I’m here to meet you with empathy and understanding. Together, we’ll create a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust and respect, giving you the support you need to explore, heal, and grow.

A Collaborative and Personalized Approach

Therapy with me is never a one-size-fits-all experience. You are unique, and so are your goals and challenges. I take the time to tailor our sessions to your individual needs, values, and aspirations.

Our work together is a collaborative process—we’re a team. I’ll guide and support you as we explore the obstacles in your path and uncover practical, empowering strategies for creating meaningful change. Your voice and feedback are central to our work, ensuring that your journey always feels aligned with your needs and priorities.

Practical Tools for Real-Life Change

In our sessions, I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These methods provide you with practical tools to address anxiety, depression, substance use issues and emotional challenges.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Cultivate self-compassion and challenge negative self-talk.

  • Sit with difficult emotions without feeling overwhelmed.

  • Reconnect with your core values to guide your decisions.

  • Build resilience and navigate life’s uncertainties with greater clarity.

Whether you’re seeking to improve communication in your relationships, establish healthier boundaries, or overcome social anxiety, our work will focus on equipping you with tools to thrive in your everyday life.

An Inclusive, Affirming Practice

Creating a safe, affirming space for all clients is at the heart of my practice. I welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and am committed to providing LGBTQ+ affirming therapy. Your identity, experiences, and story are valid. My goal is to ensure you feel respected and supported every step of the way.

Support Through Trauma and Life Transitions

If you’re processing trauma, navigating difficult life transitions, or managing substance use, I’m here to walk alongside you. Together, we’ll approach these challenges with care and compassion, breaking them into manageable steps that feel achievable and meaningful.

Major life changes can leave you feeling unmoored, but they can also offer opportunities for growth and transformation. Therapy can help you build emotional resilience, strengthen your self-compassion, and face life’s uncertainties with greater confidence and calm.

Empowering You to Embrace Your True Self

At the heart of our work together is the belief that you are worthy of joy, fulfillment, and authenticity. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” something broken—it’s about uncovering the barriers that keep you from living the life you want.

We’ll work on:

  • Challenging unhelpful narratives.

  • Building inner calm and self-trust.

  • Reconnecting with your true self and your values.

My hope is that through our work, you’ll feel empowered to embrace your individuality and live a life aligned with your goals and dreams—free from the constraints of fear and self-doubt.
